Since 1933

Wielervereniging
Amsterdam

Founded in 1933, with its own closed circuit at Sloten.

Wielervereniging Amsterdam, WVA for short, was founded in 1933 and has raced on its own closed 2.5 km circuit at Sportpark Sloten since the 1970s, with a clubhouse where we catch up over a drink afterwards. Around 330 members and some 30 volunteers make it happen. Whether you're a seasoned racer or have never ridden in a bunch, there's a race for you.

Race with us

We race four days a week: Saturday criteriums for licence holders and for riders without a licence, mixed races on Monday evenings, licence races on Wednesday evenings and a beginners' race on Fridays. You don't need to be a member: register online and you're on the start line.

New to racing?

Start with the Friday beginners' race. A short briefing, a steady pace and a closed circuit: the friendliest way to learn to ride in a bunch.

Ride with us

Every Saturday at 12:30 a social group ride leaves from the clubhouse, led by a ride captain. 30 to 60 km at a pace the group can hold.

Join the club

Full members (€84.50 a year) get discounted race entry, a free club kit every year and KNWU membership, the Dutch cycling federation. Supporters (€30 a year) back the club and get news and offers.
